What Is Japan Precision Check-up

Ningen Dock —
A Life-saving Upgrade from Ordinary Check-ups

Japan's Precision Check-up (Ningen Dock) is not an ordinary health check — it's a comprehensive health evaluation system centered on early cancer screening, covering cardiovascular, metabolic, endocrine, and all major body systems.

Whether or not you have symptoms, Japan precision screening can use CT, MRI, ultrasound, PET-CT and other tools to assess selected health risks. Results must be interpreted by physicians in context.

Japan's check-up goes beyond a report — experienced specialists interpret each result item-by-item and provide personalized health management advice, giving you true knowledge of your own health.

Japan Precision Check-up FAQ

Know the full process before you depart

How many days do I need to stay in Japan for a check-up? +
A basic precision check-up package can usually be completed in 1 day, covering imaging and biochemical tests. Packages including gastroscopy/colonoscopy require 2 days. PET-CT whole-body cancer screening can be completed in a single day; adding cardiovascular screening or genetic testing recommends 3–4 days. JMedPass will plan the most efficient itinerary for your needs.
Is the radiation from PET-CT safe? +
PET-CT radiation is equivalent to approximately 10–15 chest X-rays — within medically acceptable limits. Japan's PET-CT equipment uses high-precision, low-dose scanning technology that poses no significant health risk. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised against this scan and may choose alternative imaging.
The report is in Japanese — how will I understand it? +
JMedPass provides complete Chinese-language report translation and arranges bilingual consultants to accompany physician interpretations. All check-up results, recommendations, and follow-up instructions are explained in detail in Chinese — no language barrier.
If an issue is found, what happens next? +
If suspicious findings are identified, JMedPass assists you in booking the appropriate Japanese specialist for further assessment. If treatment is needed, we connect you with our partner centers in oncology, cardiology, neurology, and more. We also help forward reports to your domestic physician for seamless continuity.
What is included in the check-up package fee? +
Package fees typically include: check-up items (blood tests, imaging, endoscopy, etc.), physician interpretation, Chinese report translation, and consultant accompaniment. Flights and hotel are not included, but JMedPass assists with recommendations and bookings. Clear written quotes are provided during consultation — no surprise charges.

Who It Is For, Process, Cost Range and Checkup Records

Screening choices should be based on age, family history, symptoms, prior records and doctor advice. Screening is not a diagnosis.

Who is it for?

People seeking cancer screening, cardiovascular risk review, chronic disease risk assessment, family-history-based screening or structured report interpretation in Japan.

How does the process work?

Health questionnaire, prior report review, package recommendation, hospital booking, in-Japan screening, doctor interpretation, multilingual summary and follow-up direction.

What is the cost range?

Basic Ningen Dock packages may be around RMB 15,000-20,000 equivalent. Advanced screening with PET-CT, MRI, endoscopy or genetic testing may be around RMB 30,000-80,000 equivalent.

Risk boundaries

PET-CT, CT, endoscopy and contrast media have indications and contraindications. A negative screening result cannot guarantee future absence of disease.

Common questions

Most programs require 1-4 days in Japan. Whether PET-CT, endoscopy or specialist review is needed should be decided with medical input.

Document checklist

Age, sex, height and weight; symptoms; prior checkup and imaging reports; family history; allergies; medication list; target concerns.

If you have chest pain, breathing difficulty, severe pain, ongoing bleeding or other urgent symptoms, contact local emergency care first.
